Mega Makeover event to help seniors and teens feel good inside and out

GlamourGals is a not-for-profit whose mission is to organize and inspire teens to provide ongoing complimentary beauty makeovers and companionship to elderly women in senior homes.

I became involved with GlamourGals as a high school teacher in Brooklyn, NY and was immediately awestruck -- not just how important this program was to the seniors involved, but how my students gained self esteem, academic success, and of course, became positive role models in their community.

Now as the Director of Programs for GlamourGals, one of my goals is to broaden this program to reach more schools -- especially in my native Indiana. As a graduate of Center Grove High School (where we have a chapter!) and IUPUI, it is important to me that Indianapolis area teens and seniors have the opportunity to participate in this program.

Join us!

On Saturday, April 14, GlamourGals is holding a Mega Makeover at Robin Run Village in Indianapolis inviting local teens and college students, as well as adult volunteers, to learn more about our program, interact with seniors, and enjoy a musical performance by our special guest Kelly Taylor. The event will start at 10am and end at 12:30pm. Those interested in attending should e-mail me directly at julia at glamourgals.org.

Bring GG to your school!

GlamourGals welcomes both high school and college students to start chapters at their schools to visit local seniors.  For questions, please email Julia or call her at (917) 797-4190.
